ABOUT

Explore the Flathead features real-time information about local events, restaurants, shopping, nightlife and other activities in northwest Montana.

Plus promotion of special events on behalf of clients, corporate team planning and marketing. We also help promote community and state wide activities for visitors and local residents and the promotion of eco-tourism.

The Flathead Valley lies between Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. With the lake to the south and the other three sides protected by mountain ranges, the Flathead’s climate is surprisingly mild for an area this far north. This means the climate is always right for recreation in every season.

Whether you come to the Flathead Valley for vacation or business, you’re sure to find something to do. See Things to Do in the Flathead Valley.

Kalispell, the largest city in the Flathead Valley, is the retail and business hub of Northwest Montana. To the north is Whitefish, home of Whitefish Mountain Resort and a vibrant arts community. Columbia Falls on the scenic Flathead River, is known as “The Gateway to Glacier National Park.”

“Where Flathead Lake Begins” Bigfork’s is a favorite of all those who love art, fine dining and theatre. The village is home to galleries, boutiques and shops and the Bigfork Summer Playhouse that has been entertaining audiences for more than 50 years. To the south, Polson provides the perfect introduction to the Flathead Valley, inviting visitors to play on the lake, paddle the Flathead River, or explore the lovely Mission Valley to the south.

The West Shore of Flathead Lake offers a multitude of recreational activities and quaint Montana Villages and towns.
